Can NYU students use the gym over the summer? ›

NYU's athletic facility access is a complimentary service for summer residents (excluding conference guests).

NYU Athletic Facilities

Athletic facilities are available free to all registered students. The facilities include cardio and weight equipment, a pool, a rock-climbing wall. Recreational and exercise classes are available at discounted rates.

At Palladium Athletic Facility: Aux Gym, Spin Room, Weight Room, Cardio Room, Main Court, Natatorium, Restrooms, Lockers, & Showers (for pool use only per DOH regulations).

NYU alumni are NYU community members. In the hopes of ensuring that alumni feel welcome on campus, the Office of Alumni Relations invites alumni to visit and enjoy access to Bobst Library, Athletics facilities, NYU Box Office, and more.

Many gym-goers prefer wearing hoodies because they provide extra coverage and warmth during their workout. Hoodies, especially those made from breathable materials, can keep your joints warm and help you avoid heat exhaustion without causing excessive perspiration.

Regular workouts and a well-balanced diet shouldn't be avoided during any season of the year to lead a healthy life. Most people skip exercising in the summer saying that it is too hot to get some physical activity. However, if you keep a few things in mind, you could healthily do workouts even during harsh summer.

No Tuition for Income Under $100,000

NYU students whose families earn under $100,000 will not pay tuition.

Gyms and Fitness Center

You will need to bring your NYU ID and appointment letter to join. Contact the membership office to inquire about fees or more information. Spouse and partners need to provide a marriage certificate or two forms of proof from the NYU list that demonstrates a valid partnership.

If you're an undergraduate student, the amenities are free; a modest fee is required for all other students. And for faculty and staff? For a fraction of the cost of neighboring health and sports clubs, you could be in better shape before you put away your winter coat.

Palladium is a 16 floor building with wifi access throughout, study lounges on the 3rd floor, a laundry room, and the state-of-the-art Palladium Athletic Facility. The Union Square subway station is one block from Palladium Hall, and offers access to the N, R, L, Q, 4, 5, & 6 trains.

Can I just shower at the gym? ›

Should you shower at the gym? If your gym has showers, it's fair game to use them. However, think of them as a quick rinse of no more than 5-10 minutes, don't urinate in the shower, clean up after yourself, and dry off before returning to your locker so that you don't drop water everywhere.

Athletic Facilities

Featured in the various facilities are an eight-lane swimming pool and adjoining diving area, weight room, state-of-the-art aerobic fitness room, climbing wall, basketball courts, dance and class space, pro shop, and snack bar.

Harvard's athletics facilities and resources are available to staff, faculty, students, alumni and eligible family members. Annual or semester memberships, expert personal training and fitness classes offer as many options as private gyms, at reasonable rates.

A summer house provides the perfect setting for a home gym with its location away from the house. You can avoid distractions and focus entirely on your exercise goals, using your time to switch off mindfully and pay attention both to your physical fitness and mental wellbeing.

Study At NYU: Every Season, For Any Reason

You can take intensive courses during our Summer and January sessions, or come for a full semester in the Fall or Spring. You can even study abroad at one of NYU's global centers over the summer.

Summer accommodations are either shared or single bedrooms within multi-bedroom suites, or stand-alone single studios. Apartment-Style suites have kitchens and do not require a meal plan. Traditional-Style suites do not have kitchens and therefore require a meal plan at an additional charge.
