What does Morgan Moses offer the New York Jets’ offense at 33 years old?

The New York Jets began their 2024 offensive line rebuild by signing former Baltimore Ravens guard John Simpson. Two days later, they followed up the Simpson signing by adding another former Ravens starter, Morgan Moses. In exchange for the 33-year-old, the Jets sent Baltimore a sixth-round pick and swapped fourth-round picks.

Moses is back in Florham Park for his second stint with the Jets, as he started 16 games for the team in 2021. After a solid year with New York, Moses landed a three-year, $15 million deal with Baltimore in 2022. Moses started 31 games at right tackle for the Ravens across the past two seasons, in addition to all three of their playoff games.

Moses brings plenty of experience to the Jets, having 144 career starts under his belt (plus five playoff starts). Durability was also a major plus until last year; before missing three games in 2023, Moses hadn’t missed a game since his 2014 rookie season.

On the field, the 2023 season was a strong one for Moses. He earned excellent stats and grades, while most people in Baltimore raved about his performance. However, a nagging pectoral injury bothered him throughout most of the season. In addition to missing three games, Moses played less than 100% of the snaps in seven others. He ultimately played only 69% of the Ravens’ offensive snaps. Moses had surgery after the year.

Going into his 11th NFL season, what should Jets fans expect from Moses? Is he still the top-10 right tackle that some metrics claim he was in 2023? Or should fans temper their expectations a bit?

We answer all of those questions in the latest Blewett’s Blitz film review, breaking down 39 plays from Moses’ 2023 season to showcase a full synopsis of his game. Plus, a full list of Moses’ strengths and weaknesses can be found at the bottom of the page.
